Emergency First Aid

In the event of a disaster, emergency first aid supplies can be the difference between life and death. Burns, cuts, scrapes and broken bones are, unfortunately, quite common in these situations and having the necessary items on hand can help keep the damage to a minimum. A small, seemingly minor wound can quickly develop into a life-threatening problem if not properly cared for.

Basic items such as bandages and antibiotic ointment should be a part of every emergency first aid kit. However, there are a variety of other items that can prove to be quite useful in an emergency situation. Eye wash solution and burn ointment are often needed during a disaster.

An emergency first aid kit can also include non-emergency items. A cell phone and charger can be of great use during a localized emergency. Over the counter pain relievers and anti-diarrhea medication are often recommended as well.
